I had the good fortune of meeting Phillip Moffitt when I attended a weekend meditation workshop that he led in Vancouver, Canada. At that retreat Phillip spoke extensively about choice. The words as I remember them were “Whenever you feel that life is becoming chaotic, stop and remember that you have choice.” This statement was life-changing. Whenever I remember these words I find I am able to pause, identify the options available to me, and move forward with empowerment. Phillip’s teachings continually remind me of the benefits of responsive rather than reactive action. This awareness has translated into a more thoughtful, creative way of being as I have developed the ability to better locate opportunity in both successes and failures.
I enrolled in training to become a certified Strategist to share these teachings which I believe empower individuals toward a more consistent experience of well-being. It has been an incredible journey. With each person I connect with, I further my understanding of these teachings and am reminded of the privilege it is to walk alongside and to support another being.
My career has extended from practicing law to managing an international development program to being a public servant to managing regulatory affairs for public corporations. I have lived, worked, and studied in three countries. I call Vancouver, Canada home.
